HIV/AIDs Projects

In partnership with LVCT Health and funded by PEPFAR through USAID, this five-year initiative (2021-2025) enhances access to high-quality HIV prevention and treatment for FSWs, MSWs, and TGs in Kilifi and Mombasa Counties. Implemented through six DICEs, the program provides HIV testing, PrEP, ART linkage, STIs, and other Sexual reproductive health services. A peer-led model (peer educators, PrEP champions, navigators) ensures meaningful KP involvement and drives demand for services.  The primary objective of this project is to improve access to high-quality HIV prevention and treatment services for key populations.

Our Approach

  • HIV Prevention & Care – Provide testing, counseling, PrEP initiation, ART linkage, and viral suppression support.
  • STI Screening & Treatment – Detect and treat sexually transmitted infections among key populations.
  • Family Planning Services – Offer tailored contraceptive options, especially for female sex workers.
  • Post-GBV Care – Deliver medical, psychosocial, and support services for survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Peer-led Community Engagement – Empower peers to drive awareness, reduce stigma, and expand access through outreach and DiCEs.

Our Goals

  • Reduce HIV transmission through prevention, testing, treatment, and PrEP uptake.
  • Strengthen continuity of care by ensuring ART linkage, adherence, and viral suppression.
  • Improve SRH outcomes with integrated STI management and family planning services.
  • Address gender-based violence by providing survivors with comprehensive care and support.
  • Empower key populations through a peer-led approach that builds trust, ownership, and sustained engagement.
